Lord, grant me patience and serenity so that I shall not sock everyone around me.
It's a world gone mad, folks. Gone mad.
Case in point:
- Someone died at Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth. :(
- My father left a suicide note last night and said he had a gun with him. He left the house with $500 in cash. My mother called my brother and warned him that Dad might be coming to kill him. Dad showed up 9 hours later and apologized and admitted he needed help. Forgive me, father, if I can't believe your sincerity just yet. (This is not a surprise; it's been brewing for awhile. The locked entries should explain it, whenever they become unlocked.) Now he says he didn't have a gun. Kyle, for his part, isn't buying any of it - poor Kyle! How on earth will he sort all of this out? Personally, it's going to take more than just one day to see if Dad's really serious about help - and I sure hope he is, because he's running out of second chances.
- I've spent the day sending immigration papers to Korea and Taiwan and managing a 25K purchase order.
- Hunter tried to "be there" for one of our friends at a party in San Francisco only to be thanked by that friend becoming physically abusive while drunk. Poor Hunthunt - he was so sad and confused and ill from the alcohol. :( Why do people treat the nicest people like total shit?
- I bought a pair of jeans for the first time in like, 7 years. And they look cute on me. Go figure.
- Our friend Ira is attached to us like a barnacle. He's spent 4 of the past 6 days playing Animal Crossing at our apartment, practically invited himself over to watch movies he rents, pesters several times a day on weekends when we told him we were'nt up for socializing, and suggested that the 3 of us move into a 2-bedroom apartment. He also asked to carpool with us but is perpetually sleeping in, always running late. We've created a monster.
I'm sick of stupid people, suicide notes, and all of that crap. I'm going to go home and play SimCity 4 until I fall asleep.
