Friday Five == Free Content! :)

1. How much time do you spend online each day?

All day, every day while I'm at work. If you mean actively surfing, probably 4 hours of my workday minimum.

But IM is always open - my boss commanded me to install it upon arriving here. :) I won't argue - I was so sad that Disney's firewall blocked all IM products when I worked there.

Currently, we have no computers or internet in our California apartment. That stuff's all back in the city of PFunk in our other apartment. But every day, it looks more and more like we are here for good, so that stuff is being moved ASAP.

2. What is your browser homepage set to?

SimParentCompany's intranet site. It has a rotating picture of either Aragorn, James Bond, or a sports dude - all 3D models, natch.

3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?

AOL Instant Messenger. I don't like MSN Messenger, and ICQ lost its interest back when spam messages outnumbered real ones. [Sadly, those AIM porn spams seem to be bad tidings of a similar nature.] Although I still have my 6-digit ICQ number, because I'm hardcore. ;)

4. Where was your first webpage located?

On Geocities. It was called "Aphrodite's Parlor" (yes, I know. horrible name, don't get me started) because my handle on the local BBS'es was Aphrodite. The first incarnation had a 3D text logo - the height of cheesiness - and was mostly links to Animaniacs pages. This was back in the 1994-1995 era.

I eventually expanded that site and added an Elmo (of Sesame Street fame) fansite. It got quite respectable traffic, especially after I was named the "Cool site of the day" by Geocities. Ah, my crowning glory. ;) I also had some poetry up there. (every teen has to have that on their website, it's an intergalactic law!)

To top it all off, I ran a banner-creation service where Geocities members could come to me and I'd make them a free banner. It was really good experience during a time when I was just getting comfortable with image editing programs, and it was a popular service till I shut it down.

Naturally, that site has disintegrated due to my embarrassment of the whole thing, and now I've got legitimate webspace to tend to. :)

Editor's Note: Good Lord! I went back to the old site, and wouldja believe? My old Elmo site still gets up to 200 hits a day, and up to 4000 hits a month (like last month). Small change in the scheme of things, but for a site that's been update-less since the last millenium, well, it's kind of amazing.

5. How long have you had your current website?

Since freshman year, when I first started designing my "vanity" site for my resumes and my portfolio. I moved it from my college webserver to its own domain and 3 years ago, and it's now got its own commercial webhost. Nothing terribly exciting, I'm afraid - it's all about me. Maybe when I get a computer in my damn apartment again I'll be able to have some fun with web design again. :) Pikachu website, anyone?
