Never ever ever take the redeye from San Jose to PA.

I should be sleeping right now...

I didn't sleep much last night. Planes being evil and all - did you ever notice that, when your seat is in a reclined position and the armrest is up, the armrest stops just before it is level with the seatback ... meaning it's there to jut its nasty metal corners into your head.

It'd take weeks to explain everything that went on at the Game Developers Conference (www.gdconf.com) last week. A quick summary:

• Hunter and I stayed with my old best friend from freshman year, Lauren, and her fianc� Obi. It was wonderful - I really felt like we made up for the time we lost when we grew apart as upperclassmen.
• The minute I walked into the conference associates lounge (CA lounge), one of the head CA's took one look at me and said, "I know who you are! You're (my first name/last name)!" Out of 200 CA's, he recognized me immediately by sight and got my name completely right.(it surprised everyone else in the room)
• I then found out that I had been assigned as a "floater" for several of my shifts - an unprecedented honor and responsibility. Before this year, all floaters were 3rd or 4th year returnees to the conference.
• A picture of me drawing in an art contest made it to www.gamespy.com.
• I had lunch with about half of Disney's VR Studios, the group responsible for creating Disney's Toontown Online. Oh, and my professor. And it was basically an interview for an internship. It was the most stressful/awkward lunch of my life.

The list goes on and on. Not to mention all of the gaming geekboys who wouldn't stop following me around. It was surreal. Needless to say, Hunter was a leetle tense... but he didn't have to worry. He'll always be the best gaming geek I know. ;)

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I am tiring of the academic world. My grad program is going all wanky, and I'm not paying $35,000/yr to let them dick me around.

I might just get the courage to post "Looking for full-time employment" on my website...
